Heathrow-based leading contractor Associated Asphalt continues its rapid growth trajectory having secured a place as one of the contractors to provide a range of civil and structural engineering works across Devon.
The company has been appointed by Devon County Council to deliver work across several categories, including Lot 3 (highways projects valued between £200,000 and £1 million), Lot 5 (combined structures and highways projects ranging from £1 million to £4 million), and Lot 6 (rail interface structures up to £1.5 million).
The four-year framework, running from April 2026 to April 2030, is estimated to be worth around £78 million. However, the total number of individual projects to be commissioned under the agreement has not yet been confirmed.
Importantly, the contract marks a strategic expansion for Associated Asphalt, which is widely known for highways maintenance, road surfacing and complex airfield resurfacing, as it moves further into broader civil and structural engineering works.

The Minor Engineering Works Framework (MEWF) covers highways, bridges, flood risk and public realm improvements across the county. Although most Lots have six appointed suppliers, Lot 6, which focuses on rail-related works, is limited to just two contractors, including Associated Asphalt.
